If you live in areas subject to wildfires:
- Mark the entrance to your property.
- Keep leaves raked from the yard and rain gutters.
- Store firewood at least 30 feet from you home.
- Use fire resistant roofing and siding such as slate, stone, brick, and metal to reduce risk.
- Learn evacuation routes, assemble a family preparedness portable kit, and create your emergency plan to include a meeting place in and outside your neighborhood should your family become separated.
- Determine the need to evacuate based on immediate personal danger or if an order is issued by local authorities.
- Do not take time to remove contents from your home if a wildfire is approaching your house.
- Listen to local emergency officials for additional information and updates.
