Sudden disasters can permanently or temporarily displace families from their home and personal belongings. Often, evacuees arrive in shelters wearing the only clothes they have. Providing new or like-new clean clothing appropriate for the season and climate helps evacuees regain a sense of personal dignity and control over their lives. Clothing Services is important to the long-term recovery of evacuees.
As a ministry, consider opening a clothes closet in your church to serve the clothing needs of evacuees and families rebuilding their lives after a disaster.
